Our testimony

Find out a little more about our family:

Eric was born into a Christian home in Quebec, Canada. At a very young age, he trusted Christ as His personal Saviour. He attended a church that was planted by an American missionary, and he benefited from Christian education as well as opportunities to serve in that local church.

Melissa also enjoyed a solid Christian upbringing, and she also trusted Christ as a child. Music was her passion, and the Lord allowed her to use this gift in her local church. She went on to study sacred music at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

After high school, Eric surrendered to do whatever God would have for him to do. He enrolled in Bible college near Toronto, Ontario, graduating in 2002. He met Melissa in Bible college, and they were married in 2003. The Lord allowed them to serve in Quebec until 2005, while working in secular employment. Following this, they moved back to the Toronto area to serve on the staff of the FaithWay Baptist Church. Eric served as assistant pastor, high school teacher, principal, and outreach director, while cumulating some duties on Bible college faculty. Melissa taught music both in the Christian school and Bible college ministries, while helping in many church ministries also.

In 2011, the Leveilles began deputation as missionary church-planters in Quebec, the French-speaking province of Canada. In July 2013, they planted l’Église baptiste de la Cité Lumière (City of Light Baptist Church) in uptown Montreal. The Lord blessed there, and in 2016, the Lord led them to merge with another church plant, l’Église baptise centrale de Laval (Central Baptist Church) following the heavenward home-going of faithful missionary Paul Pelletier. Today, the combined work continues in Laval, a suburb in the northern part of the Montreal metropolitan area. The church has grown numerically and spiritually in recent months. All the services and activities are conducted in French.

The Lord has given them two boys: Daniel (13 years old) and Aiden (6 years old). The whole family enjoys serving the Lord together in the ministry. The needs in the French-speaking world are tremendous, and the Leveilles’ prayer is to be used of God, in His power, to have an impact in that language group, especially in French-speaking Canada.
